What is dynamic modeling

What is dynamic modeling

It is called dynamic modeling when a miniature is not static but can move thanks to electric or petrol engines. The most common case is remote-controlled model cars. But electric trains are also part of dynamic models. In most cases these models are purchased ready-made in this case they are toys.

This is, for example, the case with model railways. In modeling exhibitions it is possible to see how the aging of the locomotive and wagons and the care of the landscape that acts as a scenography can have a significant impact on the dynamic model. A model with simple lights but which has no electrical or mechanical movement cannot be defined as dynamic.

Some dynamic models can be art

The dynamic models shown here cannot be defined as artistic dynamic models. In reality they are models for hobbyists or toys. A dynamic hand-made miniature from the design to the creation of any machinery is in fact an artistic work, as the work done by the miniaturist is a work done artfully. The fact that such a miniature has movement only adds value to the miniature. An example: The model of the ancient machinery that moves in a Neapolitan artistic nativity scene is recognized as art.

There are many hobby sectors that include dynamic modeling. Planes, boats, trains, cars, and much more.
