Miniature semi-automatic leather nailer machine for tannery
The miniature of the leather nailing machine is a machine that is used in the tanning process to remove wrinkles and to stretch the leather. The skins are fixed with pliers on the conveyor belt made of perforated metal panels. The belt travels a long distance entering the heated tunnels and then exits with the skins attached on the opposite side. The speed time of the conveyor belt is adjusted according to the need for the leather to remain inside the oven.
The panels that make up the conveyor belt when entering the oven expand in all directions, spreading the leather nailed to them. The oven temperature is adjusted based on the type of leather and the type of workmanship you want to achieve. The operators assigned to this machinery must operate at the pace imposed by the speed of the flowing belt; the hides that finish the manufacturing process are detached to attach the new hides remaining to be processed in their place. A machine that requires a lot of manpower and speed of execution. The miniature is suitable for company exhibitions or educational tours, but also for enthusiasts of extraordinary machinery.

Project
The leather nailer model seemed easy to make at first glance. But the mechanisms that make this miniature work are not at all. Making all the perforated panels that make up the conveyor belt has become boring, a continuous repetition and I no longer remember how many of these panels there are but more than a hundred. Then I found it difficult to get them to collide with the right distances to allow the belt to complete its complete rotation. In the end I am very satisfied with this very scenic and realistic model.
Materials
As can also be seen from the outside, aluminum and soft iron are the materials I mostly used in the construction of the model. The internal mechanisms that allow the rotation and motion of the conveyor belt are made of plastic. In this case, wood took on a marginal role. The miniature runs on 6 volts batteries.
