The progress of the construction of the diorama of the office of The Godfather.
In this third post I applied the wallpaper, glued with vinavil, making sure that no air bubbles were created. Then with a water-based paint for furniture wood I painted the entire wooden part in the same color. Not having the exact color available, I had to help myself by adding a little acrylic paint colorant.
Once I made the frame of the central painting above the fireplace I glued the gold paper that I will touch up by giving it an aging later. The green marble part of the fireplace is also printed on photographic paper and already glued. The first central shelf is ready, the handles are made with small brass nails that are usually used for paintings. The books are printed on photographic paper and the pages are actually with small pieces of plywood in the appropriate thickness. The sheet effect is quite realistic, even if the scene as you know is very dark.
I wanted to focus on this to tell you that one of the complicated things I had to deal with is the lack of light in the scene that does not allow you to clearly see all the details that make up the room. I helped myself by clearing the images and searching online for the website of the Godfather museum in Los Angeles.
There is still a lot of work to do, but for now I think the work on building the diorama of the Godfather office is going well.
I actually already imagine it done, as if in my head it were finished. I continue to look at it and look at it again to check for errors and take stock in myself on how to proceed now.
In the next post, I will keep you updated.
