Miniature Tannery leather drying chain
Miniature of the tannery’s leather drying shed
The miniature of the shed with the tannery’s leather drying chain follows an educational journey on the leather processing cycle. This environment is used to dry the damp leather hanging from a chain that carries the leather upwards and then through the heat given by the sabianes it is dried to the desired degree.
This machinery is also used for other purposes and for other machines where it is required that the still damp leather has a period of rest and drying before the subsequent processing. At first glance it seems like an easy miniature to build, but I assure you that this model gave me a hard time in the true sense of the word. The mechanism that turns the chain is very elaborate, because it is a chain that must unfold in all directions in order to function.

Project
The leather nailer model seemed easy to make at first glance. But the mechanisms that make this miniature work are not at all. Making all the perforated panels that make up the conveyor belt has become boring, a continuous repetition and I no longer remember how many of these panels there are but more than a hundred. Then I found it difficult to get them to collide with the right distances to allow the belt to complete its complete rotation. In the end I am very satisfied with this very scenic and realistic model.
Materials
As can also be seen from the outside, aluminum and soft iron are the materials I mostly used in the construction of the model. The internal mechanisms that allow the rotation and motion of the conveyor belt are made of plastic. In this case, wood took on a marginal role. The miniature runs on 6 volts batteries.
Fully functional miniature roller coater. A model suitable for display for offices and companies.
Leather tannery spray model. A working miniature of the spray that is used in the tannery, great for display.
